What’s Up 2021?

What’s Up 2021?

If I say 2020 was an extraordinary year, it is an understatement. We all can testify that Corona in our midst made things strenuous and bizarre. It changed the way we are living our lives now. Many people are happy that this year will be over in a few hours. I am wondering if those people think that 2021 is going to be an immense difference. Remember, the Netherlands is entering the New Year in confinement. Perhaps people think they will adapt better to the pandemic effects and measures in a couple of hours? Maybe that is why they are rejoicing.

For me there are several bright sides to this Coshit 19. I will name a few highlights, such as the exclusive time with my family and friends. Self-reflection sessions: the good, bad and the creative me. Next to gratefulness on everything I took for granted. Plus I reconnected with my passions: writing, music and dancing again.

If you are close to me, you know I rather cling on my role of “comfortably satisfied” working behind the scenes then come out to speak to a group of people. As of today, I joined the front line protesting against crimes against humanity. I have written 15 blog posts on “complicating” matters among other things in a period of 9 months. Posted short films of myself dancing freely on my Instagram stories. A good friend, Olufemi queried me few months ago, ” Chi what happened to you? You are more at the foreground now. I see you are coming out of your shelf. I like the person you are becoming.” If you are reading this Olufemi, thanks for those words, I love her more now.

One of the reasons I will continue to step more to the forefront is the 1001 things I still want to do in this lifetime. Staying at the back is not sufficient. To create something out of nothing starts with faith and action, but also being visible. Whether I fail or succeed I will learn the lessons. 2020 has shown me that I can with the right mindset, just like I did with this blog.

That brings me straight to my last and shortest post of the year. I am taking a blogging break. I need to put my full attention to new projects. I strive to come back in March 2021. However I learned this year to live in the moment not planning too far ahead. Keep room for flexibility and swift moves.  For me 2021 is not going to be much different from this year. In fact it will be tougher due to the Corona measures and the vaccine hype. The forecast is quite straightforward; If you have no clue what I am talking about, check my posts on Corona or the news.  I keep my mind unlocked in the New Year like I learned to do in 2020.  In general this year was not too bad for me after all. Change is an inevitable part of life. I will embrace it to fit my spirit.

My blog will stay online. For now you can read my thoughts of 2020 and comment. I will reply accordingly. You can also follow me on Instagram. I wish you the best things of life in the New Year. Best wishes!

I am so happy with 2020 including covid -19. It came at a good time for me.

Something I always do my best for. Awareness for everyone! Life on automatic pilot was forced to end and I loved it.

It can also be done differently, it also had to be done differently or it helps.

Above all, the new view is also in the right direction.

For the first time I panicked at the second lockdown, this was so special. Luckily I resumed myself within 10 seconds.
I am pregnant and had to buy things, I recently got a new house and I can’t renovate I thought.

My bright spot was … stay on your boat and row whatever oars you have.

I hope Covid-19 lasts for another 2 years.

People are stubborn and they need to get a different view of life !!

So many advantages to covid-19: the environment is the most important to me.

    A beautiful blessed 2021

Thank you Suka for this different bright view on the Covid 19 situation. Congratulations with your pregnancy and new house.

I don’t know if many people will be happy with your joy of this pandemic. I do understand the importance of the environment around us. We have to start thinking more seriously about how we live. Take the time: stop, think and reflect on things that matters (nature, health, family and so on)

However I really don’t share your hope for 2 years of Covid. For you its working out perfectly, but for a lot of industries, companies and small businesses its as good as over. That is painful though if you no longer can do what you love. It’s even a harder pill to swallow when that is decided for you.

Now with the lockdown extension, we need to keep our minds unlocked. The best way to do that is to focus on things that make you happy or excited. For you that should be the new house and your baby. I hope that Covid 19 situation keeps on smiling to you.

      Have a happy 2021 🙂
