A Quickie Reflection of 2022

A Quickie Reflection of 2022

Happy New Year my beloved reader. I am still amazed that you take out time to read my blogs. It really warms my heart and encourages me to write here instead of in my notebook. May this year grant you your heart desires and best wishes!

Today’s blog was a last-minute decision, because my head is overfilled with the good, bad, sad and happy thoughts and experiences of 2022. The only way I can de-clutter some of these thoughts is by penning it down.

Last year was interesting but demanding. The corona measures were dropped in the (national) bin. The doors were wide open no restrictions of QR codes and face masks, which made most of my weekends to be occupied with activities. Another highlight was the Russia-Ukraine war starring Ukrainians as the main characters to receive “everything” from the Western society on a silver platter. The abnormal energy and consumption rates hike introduction. It reminds me of the transition from the Gulden to the Euro, where the prices doubled instantly and salaries remained the same. Moreover, the media portraying the Dutch farmers as the villains. They refuse to sell their lands, due to the climate change regulations Agenda 2030. You know who controls the food, will control everything. Other interesting issues that had my attention were the growing polarization, the Dutch housing crises and the apology of the Dutch government for their active role in slavery.

In my own small world, I have been back and forth processing the year that went so fast. My struggle with food and snacks and social media have kept my mind extremely active. In 2023, I hope to improve on my self discipline, spirituality and daily balance. Focus on what really matters to prioritize on, because a day consist of only 24 hours. As for what will happen in the world, I don’t have much control over, but if I have control over my own actions, I will be more than okay.

How do you look back at the year 2022? What do you wish for in this year? Share it here. I wish you a prosperous and healthy 2023!

Great Post! You aptly summarised most of the notable events and occurrences in 2022. For me, 2022 was all shades of great, awesome with trying times and really low moments. Greatest takeaway is I can actually achieve whatever I set my mind to do. With this, I enter into 2023, hoping for achieving greater accomplishments and having more focus on my physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing and improving my interactions with people.

    Hello Chi.

I am glad to read from your blog once again; I always admire how your thoughts flow to form words into sentences.

AD 2022 was a rough ride! It came and left too sudden amidst the series of tussles and bustles. Hopefully, the 2023 adventure will benefit from last year’s experience.

I wish you and your loved ones a New Year full of joy.

Looking forward to your next post.
